Now, i’m officially closing down my Efx2blogs and continue blogging at Wordpress. Efx2blogs is great except the lack of backup feature! I still prefer Efx2blogs as it gives me more freedom in tinkering around my bloggie. I’ve always been blogging in WordPress still, but just as a backup blog only. But now, i'm making it official!

3rd July 2008
I haven't been at home much since before Batam Trip. It's more like stay-out, go home in the noon & go out in the evening everyday for more than a week. But i'm enjoying the freedom & flexibility of time now, w/o school or work =)
Dar has school so we meet for lunch & then at night, meet for dinner & went to Upp Thomson Rd for Miss Clarity Cafe =) We had the Chicken Thigh and Fish & Chippy, desserts were Vanilla Ice Cream and Bread Pudding *yummy* This year, dar's bday present from me was the Batam Trip, a card & a surprise for dar~ “its for you, happy birthday”, the smile on his face was priceless, its all worth it =)

Sat 5 Jul 2008 - Batam Trip 28-30 June 2008
Day 1: KTM check-in & shopping @ Megamall
Boarding the ferry, off to Batam~! The ultimate relaxation - eating & shopping!
The room was small but very cosy~ Seafood lunch @ KTM & dinner @ Gadeon New York Pizza & Steak is a must-try!! Filling, cheap & yummy food =) 2 drinks, 1 grill chicken chop, 1 grill tenderloin steak, 1 pizza, 1 plate fries = only approx $20 for 2 person~ I always enjoy shopping for clothes for dar heh. Just on our first day, we already bought lotsa stuff =P Supper was A&W *yummy curly fries & root beer float*
Day 2: Photo-taking, Nagoya Hill SC, BCS, Star-gazing
We went strolling & photo-taking in the morning, taking in the nature scenary~ The view at our balcony was pretty. Right below our room was a man-made beach & further down was the big blue sea~
Then there's more shopping! There's a food street inside Nagoya Hill SC! Lunch was Ayam Bakar @ Arum Bandung, tea break was A&W again =P Dinner was @ Texas Chicken~ We definitely attracted unnecessary attention when we're using utensils for meals coz most ppl there use their hands.
We had a romantic night, chatting, star-gazing & drinking vodka by the beach hee. And dar did a 'bottle-stunt' which amazed me hehe. I really miss the night =)
Day 3: The Couples
1 trip = 6 guys & girls = 3 couples
We're broke by the third day, and so we chose to have a cheap lunch @ EsteLer 77. The spicy fried rice is nice~ Then we went to watch a movie - Get Smart, in order to prevent us from spending further haha. It was a funny show and the cinema was beautiful~
Boarding the ferry - back to Singapore~
Reach SG abt 8pm+ & we went to Shi Lin to buy back dinner to dar's place. By the time i had dinner, it was already 10pm+. Looking forward to more getaways with dar =)

I'm home today to finish up some stuff as nxt few days i won't be home. So i guess its time to update on the happenings for the past few days =) If you manage to finish reading this entry, then you're a really patient person heh.
20/06/2008 Friday
For the whole of Friday, we were treasure hunting for taxi stands in the southern part of Singapore. raffles place – tanjong pagar – chinatown – clark quay, all by foot. The sun was scorching hot & it was actually quite tiring to treasure hunt haha. But ice cold drinks & Mango desserts do the trick of cooling us down~ Nostalgia overwhelmed me when we reached 80 Robinson Rd, where the CL gals first get to know each other~ Though we were wearing birks, we still earned quite a few blisters on our feet! =(
21/06/2008 Saturday
 Had a sumptuous lunch @ Cineleisure Suki Sushi buffet. Free flow salmon sashimi & cups after cups of orange juice heh. We happened to bump into Jeanette Aw @ Kinokuniya & headed to TCC for chill-out. I had a rather weird combi of Azuki Coffee Cooler - coffee & red beans. I dun think they really go well together hmm. Anyway, the TCC @ Somerset has such bad service – chase us off coz the table is said to be reserved >:( So, we walk to opp Istana, sit & chat till 1am. Random questions & getting to know each other better. I was stoning at the end of the night, really tired. Took a cab to dar's place coz he's worried abt me staying out late & I dun wan him to wait up too late also.
23/06/2008 Monday Anyway, i slept my Sunday away, mostly. Other than celebrating dar's bday in advance with his family, i was napping lol. Felt so tired since Friday =( Monday, I went for my primary school gathering @ Novena Fish & Co. Its been ages since i've last saw them, except for Ching. The first qn thrown at me right after i said 'hi' was: "When are u getting married?!" haha as usual, ppl nowadays like to ask this qn. Anyway, the gathering turns out to be better than I thought. Gossips, jobs, love life, marriage, studies, the pri sch memories we shared....nostalgia~ We also shared the Seafood Platter for 2 but really, Fish & Co's standard has dropped alot.

I accompany dar to SIM to pay the school fees & we also went to trim our hair. Weather's getting so hot~ Then its retail therapy in town~! =) Alright, that's all for such a longggg entry heh.

subconscious, inner thoughts, desires, sensations.
Recently, many events (interviews & activities going on in my life) have made me learn even more about myself. Realization & introspection. And to think that interviews are actually for the interviewer to get to know more about the interviewee. I guess it works both ways for me. Gaining interview exp as I go along to 'level up'.
Why is the world in such a hurry?
Our work is never done. I watch the way people around me operates. They are like a blur. Everybody is always going somewhere and headed in a different direction. Everything is on the go making it easier for people to be moving constantly.
Sometimes you have to take a step back before you can move forward.
Every so often I find myself getting totally immersed in certain things in life, and I tend to overlook other things around me. I start to get a little impatient, and not enough time relaxing and letting nature take its course. And i have to be constantly reminding myself.
It's as if I'm sitting on a beautiful beach and instead of taking in the panoramic view of the ocean, the warm sun and the waves gently rolling against the beach, I'm obsessing on a single grain of sand.
Why did I become impatient & hoping things will happen with a snap of my fingers?
Why did I bog myself down w/ unnecessary stuff, when it's so much better to relax and soar?
I really need to heed dar's advice.
Its okay to take a breather from the fast-paced life & take some time to smell the roses along the way~

Fri 13 Jun 2008 - Lovin' Friday The 13th
I think the above pictures speak for themselves. Been hanging out w/ dar coz its his holidays too~ =) Its Friday the 13th but its been a great day in town for both of us =) Was deciding between Hulk & The Happening. But we went ahead w/ the Incredible Hulk & i like this better than the previous Hulk movie which i watched on TV. Edward Norton is a great actor~ I hope there'll really be a Justice League movie coming up soon heh......if u watched Incredible Hulk & Iron Man, you'll know wat i mean. And Kung Fu Panda was funny! Its for mindless laughter, which i really do need some dosage of those now =)

Thu 12 Jun 2008 - Last Friends
Stayed home these 2 days coz i'm not feeling well. And i got addicted to Last Friends ラスト・フレンズ~! The drama explores many issues such as DV, homosexuality, pregnancy, love. But the drama sure makes me emo.....its such a 'watch-and-feel-goodsad' show =(
At first, felt its a slow drama. But i grow to like it, alot~ The strong casts & deep storyline are what makes me stuck to the screen these 2 days. The characters are very 'deep & rich' and w/ strong casts like Nishikido Ryo from 1 Litres of Tears, Nagasawa Masami from Proposal Daisakusen, Ueno Juri from Swing Girls and Eita from Nodame Cantabile.....all from highly rated shows that i like.
P.S. Ryo is definitely creepy in the show & I love the theme song loads! =)

Finally got the chance to watch What Happens In Vegas. Nice romantic comedy =)

This is so true. You can't please everybody. Don't let criticism worry you. Sometimes I'm just tired of trying to please everyone & trying to meet everyone else's expectations of me. Some people are just not worth to please. The only time I can really be myself w/o owing any explanations to anyone, is when i'm by myself or when i'm with my dear. I really cherish the times =)

Mon 9 Jun 2008 - The Secret
We do not have to necessary plan out our everyday life, especially the nitty gritty details. Sometimes life just brought you where you were & inevitably we would discover something new & interesting coming our way =)
Meet-up w/ Qing for lunch @ Tanjong Pagar. Since we're going to the temple @ Bugis, i offered my prayings for dear & myself. I wasn't feeling well actually & we headed to Starbucks & Qing treated me a hot chocolate drink & that's really nice =) Indeed felt better after hot choc & we headed to Orchard for more shopping. We happened to enter the Opera Gallery & I quite like the experience in there. The paintings were interesting & some simply wowed me =)
I've always known abt this book – The Secret. But never got down to really get to know what its all abt & today we discovered its such an interesting & inspiring book. But it was quite expensive so we let it go, till next time! =)

Went home this noon, planning to take a nap before meeting my girls at night but I ended up surfing haha. At night, we dined & chilled @ Billy Bombers. I so love the Lamb Shank & the Ben & Jerry's ice cream waffle – strawberry cheesecake & brownie cookie *yummy* =)
Ya know the feeling of meeting up with close girlfriends whom you've known for years.....warm & fuzzy just like in Sex And The City, and before the gathering ends you're already looking forward to the next gathering w/ the gals =) To think that some of the latest updates & gossips were heard from some of the guy frenz. Yea, guys can be gossip girls boys too! =P

Sun 8 Jun 2008 - Sex And The City

Since exams ended, i've been accompanying dar coz its his mugging period now. Yesterday meet-up w/ Rongz & Joann yesterday noon & lunch @ Cathay. An almost 6 hrs of chill-out & sharing session @ Starbucks w/ the 'masters' and 2 1/2 hrs of Sex And The City movie. Then its late dinner @ Coffee Club Express & another chill-out session @ Gloria Jeans Cafe. After which, we just hang around watching movie trailers at top floor Cineleisure. When its almost 3am, it was time for us to go home. So I took night rider to dar's place & bought supper for him.
I've never been to 3 different cafes in 1 day & i just did today. Well, its been long since we sit back & relax, chill & simply just talking abt everything. It was nice =) We should meet up more often, not less. And Rongz definitely know 3 more things abt me after all the 'brain-cracking' @ Gloria Jeans Cafe haha.
Sex And The City was good! I love it =) I dun mind watching it again~ Everytime i watch SATC drama, i learn a new philosophy about r/s, it does the same to me for the movie. Somehow Mr Big reminds me a little of dear & i did tell him abt it after i went back heh. Besides, they both have pretty similar ideologies: on weddings, on love.

Thu 5 Jun 2008 - Tough Times Don’t Last, But Tough People Do!

Gone are the mugging days, & the cramming on never ending notes!
It's so tiring to fight 3 battles in a row......
& i was defeated in the last battle.
Yea, I totally screwed up my last paper, it was an utter piece of crap i handed up =(
What's done is done, i'm gonna be a 'forward-looking' person~
Anyway, I felt better after talking to dar, JJ & YW & thanks for always being there =)
I'm still happy that exams are finally over!!!
And the best thing after exams is to see my darling & get some well-deserved rest =)
Haven't seen him for almost a week & the post-exam-celebration with him last night was great!
It really makes me feel that nothing else really matters, not even that battle i've lost =)
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
I'm really thankful for all the frenz who sent smses/calls of encouragements during the tough mugging periods. You know who you are =) And definitely gonna thank YP who is always helping me out with my never ending questions on all subjects heh =)

Here in SIM, you & I are very much in the season of love exams. You've stressed the hell outta me. And you've totally reaped me off my social life, my sleep, my smiles, my passion for doing things I love. No doubt you bring chaos & havoc into my life. You can't seem to resist from advancing ridiculously closer & closer towards me each day. I hate you now. You're only a small part of my life, and indefinitely a significant part. Wed 28 May 2008 - Never Ever Give Up
how approriate. I just got online, as usual to tune in to 98.7FM & its playing "I Will Survive" by Cake. Time flies whenever I'm studying or taking breaks. At times of brain saturation from all the studying, i'll listen to songs or i'll blog....i can't afford other entertainment right now.
All the Asymmetric Info, Monitoring, PA Theory, Voting Theory, Evolutionary Theory & now am reading up on Culture. How is it not possible to become information overload?! I've still got MA to finish off, OTIA to revise & MSM to practice, all in 5 days! Time is not on my side, so i need a bigger brain capacity~
Gotta keep in mind of James's saying: “Never Ever Give Up!” That's the picture he always show us in his lectures. Yeah i'm trying to stuff my brain with all the info I can alright. i'm so BORED & TIRED of studying =( And thanks for all the JiaYous & encouragement from dar & frenz =)

David Cook has won American's Idol 7!! I was telling dar how happy i am that DC won heh =) The story of David Cook is one of totally serendipity. He went to the American Idol auditions to support his brother and ended up bagging the title! Despite predictions that David Archuleta’s fangirls will prevail, David Cook won American Idol Season 7 by 12 million votes.
Me & my frenz have been rooting for David Cook & my mugging days have been accompanied by his songs =) David Archuleta is cute & young, sang really well & did a bit better than DC on Wednesday's nite. But DC's performance all along has been really good & consistent~ DC's image transformation has been quite great & i just love the way he plays his guitar, his nice eyes & great voice - talented & charming =)

Mon 19 May 2008 - Mum's Bday
Mum's bday celebration @ Xin Fu Yin Cha
When i first stepped into XFYC, it was like a warzone. It was like a noisy big ballroom scattered w/ tables of people & pushcarts of dim sum everywhere. The food was ok only, but my fave are the mango prawn roll, xiao long bao & the paper chicken =) We were just busy eating, so din manage to capture al of the foodie we had lol. After the dim sum feast, we went to have gui ling gao @ the dessert shop. We gave her the presents but she say i owe her 'something else' & gotta give her double nxt yr haa.
Breadtalk is baking interesting "panda buns" w/ different expressions, in order to raise funds for the China earthquake.
Amidst all the mugging, my family kept feeding me w/ home-made desserts & J.Co Donuts. That's sago w/ water chestnut & quail eggs. I don't know how you'll feel after exams but what i definitely won't feel is - fit >_< Looking forward to the activities w/ dar~! =) |

Sat 17 May 2008 - American History X
Took a break from MA practicing & watched American History X with dar. Its a controversial movie, tackling the social problem of racism (whites, neo-nazis, blacks & mexican community). Some of the most talk-about-scene of “curb stomping death” (really ouch!! never tot that someone could be killed this way), domestic violence and Derek's violation (6 stitches!!) by prison inmates are quite shocking & disturbing. It sticks with you and makes you think, rather thought provoking. And I like how things almost wrap up nicely in the end, and then it makes a twist & end up a tragedy. Its all well-worth the watch~
Danny Vinyard: So I guess this is where I tell you what I learned - my conclusion, right? Well, my conclusion is: Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it. Derek says it's always good to end a paper with a quote. He says someone else has already said it best. So if you can't top it, steal from them and go out strong. So I picked a guy I thought you'd like. 'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. I realize that lotsa things out there about me (those which came back to me), are half truths or being exaggerated after going thru different people. It's a relief that ICP is finally over & i mean FINALLY!!!
My hand was hurting so bad while scribbling my way thru =(
Never in my life i've seen such horrendous handwriting from myself -_-
And Nageb came to support us before the paper starts =)
Today only 6 rows were occupied at Expo Hall 1.
The least no. of candidates as compared to all other papers i've taken before.
If only this is my first and last paper, i'd be free -_-
Gotta rest abit before embarking on another 18 days muggerthon for the remaining 3 papers!
The propensity to move out is getting stronger each day.....
I need my dosage of darling, chill-outs & drinks.....

Monday blues?
Or rather, exams blues.
So many distractions,
why do I even let them distract or affect me
when they dun even know, dun even bother
whats the point of it all.
whats the point of exams?
stress has engulfed the peace of mind.
well, let's keep things in perspective.
the exams might seem like the most crucial thing right now,
but in the grander scheme of our whole life they are only a small part.
its already my final year – my final lap
i'm trying to do whatever it takes,
but does that piece of paper in the end,
really determines what job i'll get?
not necessary, but it probably determines the salary i'll get
i just wanna earn some moolah
& saving up for our future plans =)
gawd, mugging is such a long & dreadful process.....
I'm sure nothing read is lost.
it's just probably stuck somewhere in the back of my brain,
stubbornly refusing to come out.
hope its all gonna be unleashed on that fateful day
and finally the D-day is in 3 days time!

finally i've let it out.
its been more than 3 years,
and its filling up the guilt & constantly eating me inside.
at good times, i don't wanna spoil it,
at bad times, i don't wanna worsen things.
is it that i've finally geared up the courage,
or that exams stress prevented me from thinking any further.
oh well, though some things hit me back,
my heart sank a little,
but i guess we both took it quite well.
i hope we're not just putting up a brave front.

Tue 6 May 2008 - Last Day Of Skool~!
Today's officially my last day of skool!!!!
3 years in SIM has passed by in a flash~
but it was fun & i'm glad i've got to know these wonderful frenz during my SIM days =)
So I had to go for my last lecture ever. After OTIA w/ Sunny, we did lotsa photo-taking hehe. Some of us had to stay from 3pm till 4.30pm to get back our longggg-overdueeee assignment from David. BUT he din turn up even after I went off at 4.45pm to meet Joann....lecturer also pang seh ppl -_-
Tuesday's a gd day for Gelare waffle ice cream! half price! =) Tonite we've got ourselves roaming on the streets again. We've conquered 4 MRT stations in 1 nite by foot~! lol from Orchard-Somerset-Dhoby Ghaut-City Hall....and we did spend time loitering around at each landmark haha. Thanks girl for the great nite, it's definitely a gd break from all the stress & mugging =) My screen protector was nicely done by her & tonite i've managed to figure out lotsa stuff abt my Viewty too =) hmm but catching the last train to Marina Bay is quite scary. Coz the platform lights were switched off & there are hardly anyone in sight except me & the cold blue seats.......

It's been a long time since i blog on the movies i watched. Well, we went out for dinner & also to catch Iron Man on our monthniversary. Good movie, love the humour & actions =) It's almost as good as Transformers, i say ALMOST coz i like Transformers even more =) P.S. if you're going to watch Iron Man, stay till the end of credits, coz we read somewhere that there'll be more after credits. And yes, you shld watch it for yourself. Only both of us & 2 grps of guys stayed thru it lol.
And i've finally got my dream phone today, the LG Viewty KU990R w/ lens cover =)

Sat 26 Apr 2008 - Taiwan Goodies Munchin'
Its been 1 month since i've seen my bro!! =(
He went for Taiwan training for 3 weeks & back last sun, but i wasn't home for the week, so i haven't got to see him till last nite lol~ For a guy who seldom buys any clothes or stuff for himself (coz mostly we buy it for him), he surprised us by buying lotsa goodies, accessories, soft toys & clothes back from Taiwan =) Taiwan goodies are really yummy~! Lovin' the Muah Chee loads =P *pics stolen from him heh* There're Taiwan's famous goodies such as Tai Yang Bing, Muah Chee, Tidbit snacks, Tie Dan, Fresh Dried Tomatoes etc and the lousy brand condom issued to them lol.

Fri 25 Apr 2008 - Miss Clarity Cafe & The Loof
It was Rongz bday celebration @ Miss Clarity Cafe & had some drinks @ The Loof. The Loof was alright & w/ weird mix genres of music. Hopefully, the nxt time i go, i'll able to get seats at the open-area instead of where we were put at. It was kinda stuffy actually. The alcoholic drinks we ordered were quite strong & i had The Krispy Clean Cucumber Martini. It was intense but after several sips, it became better & w/ a tingling sense of cool sensation~ However, the mocktails seem to taste the best. After i down the krispy drink, i left for supper~

Mich offered me DT's concert tix for only 25 bucks w/ Rach & TT etc, so like, why not just go right?
I'm not a big fan of David Tao but i can't deny that some of his songs are on the fave list of many ppl. I like some of his songs alot & wat really got me going was when he sang 爱我还是他, 飞机场的 10:30, 就是爱你, 普通朋友, 寂寞的季节, 今天你要嫁给我. I've been waiting patiently throughout & finally he sang 爱很简单 during encore! haha that was a long wait =) But the best part was not his songs but us getting high & grooving to the Disco Medley - Addicted to Love, Walk this Way, Get Down on It, Kungfu Fighting, September & I Feel Good......yeah feels like Mambo Night~!
Overall, the concert was not bad, maybe coz i'm not a big fan of his, so i didn't think it was that great. And there were still quite a number of empty seats left. Though there's the laser beams & stuff, the concert & visuals can't be compared to Jay Chou's heh. And this is like the only concert i've been to, where the background singers took much of the limelight too. *eye candy*. But its a really value-for-money concert, considered i paid 25 bucks only heh. Luckily, there wasn't any traffic jam on the highway this time when he send us home~
I was really curious why is the concert titled "123 我们都是木头人" where i only know its a childhood game that we've played b4. DT says: "The concept of this show revolves around a children’s game which is also known as “Red Light, Green Light” in some countries. However, unlike in a game, we are often not in control of our lives and life, in general. Another key theme in the show is the importance of simplicity and the need for us to be more human in this very technological age."
